Ar Platform 22 - The AR-15 rifle is America's go-to rifle and is an excellent choice for small game, self-defense, and tactical shooting.
The .22 caliber version of the AR would make a good student. I tried the .22 unit conversion.

While they're good at what they do, I'd rather have two guns than have one with a few attachments. Also, .22 long rifle bullets tend to feather the Remington .223 barrel.

Colt has a long history of licensing parts (and even guns) manufacturing starting with Eli Whitney and continuing with Adcor today.
The Walther pistol is first class in every way and a weapon worthy of bearing the Colt name.
The single .22 caliber magazine is a donation to a common Colt M4 .22 sight. Otherwise, it looks like a standard AR-15.

The Colt M4 .22 is a single-action semi-automatic pistol. It is intended to work close to the AR-15 rifle.
The look is excellent. The real treat is the long .22 gauge magazine. The safety, trigger, sights, magazine release and grip all work the same as the Colt AR-15 rifle.
This makes it a good cheap training rifle for those using the AR-15 rifle. The Walther works very differently than the AR-15, but the controls are mostly the same.
An important part of a well-fitting barrel. The barrel mounts a sleeve that mimics the standard model AR-15 carbine.
How Useful Is An Ar 15 22 Conversion Kit?
The barrel is faithful even down to the A1 style flash hider. Features of the standard AR-15. There are many settings in the scenes.
The quadruple mold flows freely. The Picatinny rail allows you to attach lasers or flashlights, or even attach a red light to the sides.
The aluminum inserts are the same as the AR-15. Marked Colt and M4 Carbine. Walther markings are in the lower right corner.
When testing the gun, fit and finish get high marks. All controls are AR-15 standard and feel like the "real" Colt used for comparison.

The first difference in function is the step of the rod when pulling the trigger to prime it. The .223 action is about three times the length of the .22 long rifle.
It's only frustrating after the first few tries, but not at all if you've never fired an AR-15. The five-position stock offers great flexibility.
I used metal sights for most of the scope and also used the TruGlo Eminus scope with good results.
I think, however, that it does not hurt to emphasize the doctrine of the Colt M4. 22 for those with an AR-15 style rifle, the M4 .22 is a rifle in its own right.
M&p 15 22: Upgrade It With The Right Accessories
As a replacement, the M4 is great whether you have a firearm or not. So the small handling differences don't mean it's like a practice gun or an isolated one.
A quick note: When you disassemble the cooler, you'll notice a knob to control the tire speed. Counter-clockwise, high speed, opposite, negative speed.
This will allow the use of the high velocity .22 long rifle, which is about 90 percent of what most of us will use, and the normal velocity, which some people like to play with.
Normal speeds are slower and on average more expensive. It's a good option, but I don't use the settings.

In most cases, the gun will perform well in all high-velocity loads and will perform in most normal-velocity loads.
In a very dirty gun location, tire speed for low speed loads may continue for a long time between cleanings.
I've never reset mine and you probably won't have to shoot the M4 .22 in general.
There are screws on the back that make it easy to install the magazine at full capacity.
What, Exactly, Is An Ar 15 Rifle?
As with all long magazines, the magazine may interfere with practice or other shooting conditions to leave the weapon.
When handling the rifle quickly, the balance is as close to the AR-15 as you'd expect. At just over six pounds, the gun is not as light as most .22s.
The trigger action breaks to seven pounds, which is middle of the road for AR-15 trigger actions.
Trigger actions are not compatible with the Colt M4 .22. On the gun, the gun is a joy to shoot and use. It was not difficult to load the magazines to the full position.

I used the loaded Winchester M22. This is a specially designed load that is meant to work well in .22 long rifle AR-15 type rifles.
The M22 is accurate, reliable and clean burning. I loaded four magazines and started shooting targets like a man at 15-25 yards.
It's great to shoot a magazine at a target with no real purpose. Slowing down a bit, I was able to put five to ten rounds into the X-ring if needed.
I sat down to find the perfect accuracy, I destroyed both the Winchester M22 and the Winchester Super X hollow point. Super X is a hot number.

At 1,260 fps, there's plenty of speed for good expansion. Shooting from a fence I put five rounds at 1.1 inches and ten at 1.8 inches at 25 yards.
This is a good shotgun. After firing a full brick of 500 Winchester M22 rounds and 100 Super X hollow point rounds, there was no failure to feed, chamber, fire or eject.
The Colt M4 .22 is a great recreational rifle and a great trainer. Even if it doesn't look the part, it's a great sports shooting game.
