The LA-N15™ uses a CMMG 1:16 twist 4140 steel barrel that is internally chambered in .22 Benz for improved accuracy. The barrel is hand attached to the bolt assembly and then finished with a black lacquer finish. The LA-N15™ .22LR reliably loads, fires and ejects live .22LR ammunition, and the only limitation is the use of "stingy" cartridges that are not suitable for rifle chambers.

Each LA-N15™ Stealth Raven .22LR is complete with a LWRC Ultra Compact stock and buffer tube and a Magpul MOE+ grip, with storage in the base and all furniture made of fiber reinforced polymer.
The LA-N15™ Stealth Raven has an epic feature set right out of the box. The rifle comes standard with a 100% original Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle and Talon Ambi safety. The supplied trigger is a Geissele SSA-E, 2nd stage that breaks at 2.9lb - 3.8lb (2.0lb - 2.5lb 1st stage, 0.9lb - 1.3lb 2nd stage ). The rifle uses the CATCH22 dedicated 22lr catch which allows the use of M&P 15-22, KRISS Defiance and Black Dog magazines. The rifle comes with x1 M&P 15-22 magazine, which allows automatic release of the last round and manual locking of the bolt to the rear if necessary. Lantac UTP-S™ pivots come standard with Lantac RPS™ (Ratchet Plate System) and UFA-S™ Streamlined Forward Assist.

Each LA-N15™ .22LR is equipped with an 11° target crown, which we manufacture in-house. The 12.5'' barrel is designed with an A2-style compensator and an anti-crushing pad. Muzzle threads are industry standard 1/2-28 UNEF so customers can easily upgrade their muzzle devices.
The 10.5'' SPADA-ML® handguard is also water dipped to match the 7075-T6 Biltloy receiver kit. The rifle is shown here with the Surefire Scout Light accessory, which is not included.

But when it comes to modern firearms and training, nothing is as ubiquitous or common as America's AR15 rifle. Now, the CMMG 22LR rebuild kit is nothing new, but according to various online sources, the kit has gone through several generations of upgrades to improve its reliability. This particular CCMG Bravo 22LR conversion kit I am using is one of the newer versions. Previous versions of the Bravo have been plagued with reliability issues that have made them frustrating for many, but if you paid attention to last week's Suppressor Saturday, Pete showed that not only can the CMMG Bravo be used with auto-fire, it can handle a large amount of fire without choking when using the right ammunition .
For me, the Bravo Conversion Kit is equal parts toy and training tool. With the average cost of .223 ammo still hovering around $0.45, the .22LR is still a more affordable option when you don't need to use the power you'd get from a midrange rifle. The 22LR can still give you a good time at the range for training purposes and is an absolute riot to suppress or not suppress. I usually like to save my "buy or pass" recommendation for the end of these types of reviews, but I think it's safe to say you should go ahead and buy now - you won't regret it, especially if you already have a dedicated 22LR AR-15 like M&P 15-22 Sport.
How To Build Your Own Lightweight .22 Ar
When the term "conversion kit" comes up, it usually comes with the understanding that a lot of parts will need to be replaced to make the gun work. This is not the case with CMMG Bravo either. Since both the .223/5.56 and 22LR have the exact same bullet diameter, no barrel changes are necessary. Instead, the CMMG conversion kit includes a captured recoil assembly, custom chamber, bolt, and firing pin that is a direct 1:1 replacement for your existing AR-15 bolt carrier group. Just remove your old bolt carrier, replace the Bravo and you're good to go.
As you can see, the front of the CMMG kit closely mimics the profile of the 5.56 cartridge, and this part will essentially act as your chamber, securely attaching the conversion kit to your existing AR-15 barrel. It's possible to just put a live round in the bolt and break the spring firing pin and shut the whole thing down, but I wouldn't recommend it. First, it's dangerous, and second, there's no shoveling in the chamber/extension, so it would be pointless anyway.
The CMMG Bravo conversion kit comes with its own 25-round plastic magazines and cannot be fully retracted when the standard AR-15 BCG is still in the weapon and in the off position. The opposite also applies to standard 5.56 magazines when the CMMG bolt is inside the weapon. In addition, the "rebuild" is quite simple and can be done without the use of any tools and without replacing hard-to-install parts.
As Pete says in his fully auto demo of the CMMG kit, the Bravo works perfectly with 36 grain round nose ammo. As Pete discovered, this isn't the only type of ammunition that works well in firearms. CCI 40-grain Standard Velocity, Federal 45-grain Subsonic, and even the ultra-heavy 60-grain Aguila Sniper Subsonic ammunition performed exceptionally well in the gun, smoothly going through several boxes of each. That means you're likely to find some affordable ammo for a great afternoon at the range with friends and family, shooting soda cans, spent shotgun shells, and all sorts of other fun smacking targets.

On the other hand, the CMMG kit doesn't really do well with truncated cone, hollow point, or 40 grain CCI suppressor ammo. In my experience, .22LR truncated cones and hollow points do not perform very well in any firearm, and I generally find them to be very inconsistent in their reliability across a wide variety of firearms. bulk Federal 22LR round nose.
